Brand storytelling is what I love the most about social media. I’m able to make a story and an emotional connection with someone through creative content. As a former journalist, I know that this is a fantastic way to share stories.
Overarching: I’ve made content across all social media platforms, managed communities, worked both in-house and agency-side for a variety of clients, wrote long-form pieces, dug into digital strategy, honed brand voice and told great stories.
Barkley
While at Barkley, I worked on clients from many different industries: agriculture, home decor, quick service restaurants and more. I created content with influencer marketing, developed social content for Instagram Stories, wrote for paid and organic social advertising, made emails come to life (a fan-favorite’s here!) and strategized new ways to engage audiences. I also concepted and wrote long-form content pieces covering holiday tips, farmer recipes and more! You can read here, here and here.
Beauty Brands
Beauty Brands is all about, well, beauty (and haircare, nails, skincare and our Salon & Spa). Across social media channels, I crafted content with a smile, whether it was a tweet or an Instagram Story. On the community management side of things, I interacted with our customers and store-level associates, including encouraging user-generated content, solving customer woes and engaging with consumers. We also launched Snapchat, where I storyboarded snaps. See more here.
Fire Engine Design
With Fire Engine, I created content that showed off our personality, culture and, of course, great clients. For Red Door’s social media, they wanted quirky posts that showed off their delicious food, wonderful happy hours and fun celebrations.
Moosylvania
Here I filled the editorial calendars of two great accounts, MARTINI & ROSSI sparkling wines and Balance Bar, with compelling content across a multitude of platforms. I brainstormed with Art Directors to fully execute posts with art and copy, and I was able to reach consumers in a meaningful way. See more on this work here.
Blogging
Creating intriguing content is such a huge aspect of social media. I wrote, edited and designed new content on Scout & Nimble’s blog, including posts on pendant lighting and home decor trends.
Wine Reporting (a class at the University of Missouri) involved exploring wineries and learning about viticulture. My blog on Stone Hill Winery in Hermann, Mo., was published in Vox, which is part of the Columbia Missourian.
For the Juice Stand blog at Lilly Pulitzer, I wrote on a variety of topics from travel guides to spotting influencers wearing the brand. My favorite posts included hitting the streets of New York City, celebrating a #SummerInLilly with National Wear Your Lilly Day and a collaboration with Bauble Bar.
Lilly Pulitzer
As the Creative Communications Intern, I communicated brand messaging across social media platforms, especially Twitter (but can’t forget about Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest, where I curated aspirational + on-brand content. I wrote and edited original content for The Juice Stand blog. I also analyzed data metrics for patterns, trends and successes. In PR, I helped organize mailers, influencers and giftings.
